Minimal art deco staging in the heart of Toronto

September 5, 2020

Bathurst, Toronto

This condo features a black & white combo, making it very minimalistic in vibe. It needed to be warmed up with beiges and to stay light and airy – there was enough contrast. The concrete and ceiling created an industrial cool feeling, but I wanted to make it cozy and approachable hipster guy. Materials and shapes are important here. Boucle (or shearing) and Art Deco style pendant made it “current” and on trend. I personally am a big fan of this style and I think it worked out great in here. Art Deco shapes are more “flowy” and rounded, as opposed to modern mid century sharp shaped “Sputnik” style pendants.
